About Us
The North Port St. Joe Community Development Corporation (NPSJCDC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based organization, formerly referred to as Pioneer Bay Community Development Corporation.

We work on behalf of the residents of North Port St. Joe, a predominantly Black community located on the north end of Port St. Joe in Northwest Florida. The community is surrounded by railroad tracks and cleared industrial land. Its southern edge fronts onto U.S. Highway 98, just before the George G. Tapper Bridge crosses the Gulf County Canal.
We are committed to delivering improvements in health, housing, and economic development for the community. Additionally, we are dedicated to helping North Port St. Joe recover from a history of environmental injustices that have led to long-term health, infrastructure, and economic impacts.
We represent approximately 1,000 residents, and are led by a Board of Directors, all of whom are members of the North Port St. Joe community. Our partnerships begin with the community itself and extend to other nonprofit organizations, several of Florida’s universities and federal government agencies.
We also work closely with new residents who have relocated from other states and the community’s wider diaspora.
